My name is Hong Zhuang. I suppose that I inherited the entrepreneurial genes from my father, who opened his clinic at age 68.
After graduating with a master’s degree in software engineering from Tufts University, I quickly found a 9-to-5 job, but I soon felt caged. Craving being my own boss, I spent a year and a half building an online women’s fashion store. But my startup was short-lived because of a lack of customers. I felt like I was being burned alive with my startup and entrepreneurial dream.
But during many sleepless nights, I concluded that I should never give up on my entrepreneurial dream. In the hope of future success, I began a part-time MBA at Bentley University. I spent four years studying entrepreneurship, marketing, and product development.
Initially, I started Zettasher for my pre-seed investment. Each year, hundreds of unproven startup founders waste at least two years to build their products and ride that fundraising roller-coaster, never receiving funding. But I have noted that a few could turn their ideas into funded startups in less than one year. Why? Because they took unconventional approaches.
COVID taught us that life is short and unpredictable. I am a true believer in unconventional thinking and dream fulfillment. I believe that any new tech startup founder can radically flatten the learning curve through lateral thinking and achieve success within a short timeframe.
